Initially XAMPP control panel is configured to use the default browser. Be sure what you write is correct else it won’t work. Next put this path in the editor text field. To do so you need the absolute path for Notepad++ editor executable, typically: C:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++\notepad++.exe By default Windows notepad is selected but may be you want another one, let’s say Notepad++. So as we need it we have to put it there by hand. I haven’t tested in all configurations, but for some strange reason under Windows 8 the new installer from BitNami doesn’t put a shortcut icon of XAMPP Control Panel on the desktop.
XAMPP Control Panel is an excellent tool to manage XAMPP contents and could be the main reason to choose XAMPP among other alternatives, like BitNami WAMP Stack for instance. Now it’s time to configure it in order to make it ready for our needs. In the last post XAMPP for Windows 1.8.2 has been installed on the computer.
